Charles "Charlie" Anthony Hennessey, 60, passed away on Tuesday, January 14th, 2020. Charlie’s family and friends will gather for a visitation on Tuesday, January 21st from 5:00pm-7:00pm with a rosary to be recited at 6:00pm at Grace Funeral Home, 2401 Houston Highway. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd at 10:00am at The Cathedral of Our Lady of Victory, 1309 E. Mesquite Lane. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Charlie was born January 9th, 1960 to the late Martin and Myrtle Hennessey in Victoria, Texas. He was a past resident of Amarillo for 28 years. He was a recent resident of Palestine. Charlie became a dentist in 1987 after graduating from the University of Texas Health Science College. He was a licensed dentist for over 32 years. He was an accomplished marathon runner. He possibly has ran up to 100 marathons over his lifetime. He was a Boston Marathon runner for many years. He was the inspiration for the Amarillo Running Club. He was a strong influence for many people. He was a wonderful brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed by all.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Myrtle Hennessey; and sister-in-law, Juanita Hennessey.
Charlie is survived by his brothers, Patrick Hennessey, John Hennessey (Marlene), Michael Hennessey (Peggy) and Andrew Hennessey (Theresa); nephew, Jonathan Hennessey; nieces, Olivia and Kristina Hennessey, Rachel Hennessey, Tanya Hennessey, Tracey Hennessey and Myriah Garcia (Chris); 8 great-nieces and nephews; along with other loving family members and friends.
